There has been an ongoing debate on which is better between Android devices and <a href="http://www.frederickdamasus.com/2016/04/apple-worldwide-developers-conference.html" target="_blank">iOS</a> devices. IPhone users feel the Android OS is inferior and lags a lot. While Android users feel the iPhone hardware is outdated, offering inferior specs compared to Android flagships like the Samsung Galaxy flagships, HTC, Nexus, and Sony.</div>

The debate is in high gear as both Apple and Samsung prepare to unveil in a matter of weeks, the <a href="http://www.frederickdamasus.com/2016/07/top-tech-news-roundup.html" target="_blank">iPhone 7</a> and <a href="http://www.frederickdamasus.com/2016/06/Samsung-galaxy-note-7-launch.html" target="_blank">Galaxy Note 7</a> respectively. Having used both platforms (although currently an Android Smartphone), I could say they both have their strengths and weaknesses. It all boils down to preference - the smoothness of the iOS or the somewhat unlimited capabilities of the Android.</div>

The device produced by <a href="http://www.haimawan.com/" target="_blank">Haimawan</a>, a Chinese manufacturer that does OS virtualization, allows a propriety Android-based OS called the MESUIT OS 1.0 to run as an app on iOS. It is compatible with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus.</div>

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), led by Matthew D. Green, have found a bug in Apple’s encryption. It can allow a skilled attacker to decrypt secure photos and videos sent as messages.<br />
The flaw might not have been used by the FBI to recover information on the San Bernardino terrorist’s iPhone, but it proves that encryption isn’t fool proof. Green is a cryptographer and said that a court compelling Apple to undo its own security makes no sense as there are already bugs which can be exploited.<br />

The method requires the data to be in transit, not stored, so it wouldn’t actually help in the case of the San Bernardino shooter’s locked iPhone. By writing software to mimic an Apple server, researchers were able to intercept an encrypted transmission that contained a link to a photo on an iCloud server, as well as a 64-digit key that decrypts it. The key wasn’t visible, but the researchers were able to brute-force each digit. The team notified Apple, who says it partially fixed the flaw in iOS 9, and will release the full fix today in iOS 9.3 Update.<br />

He said, “Even Apple, with all their skills — and they have terrific cryptographers — wasn’t able to quite get this right.” Green’s team of graduate students will publish a paper describing the bug as soon as Apple issues a patch for it. Green said that it’s frightening that “we’re having this conversation about adding back doors to encryption when we can’t even get basic encryption right.”<br />

The new 4-inch phone will contain near field communications (NFC) to enable Apple Pay mobile payments. Apple's animated Live Photos will be supported. The cameras will be the same 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera as in the iPhone 6 and 6s lines. It will not have the new pressure-sensitive "3D Touch" contextual pop-up boxes introduced with the iPhone 6s. A number of Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus owners are complaining that their phone stopped working after a third-party repairman worked on their device. In all of these cases, the affected iPhone displayed an "error 53" message and would no longer work following repairs made to the Touch ID home button or the associated cable that goes with it.<br />

To be perfectly clear, following the repair, the phone would still work perfectly until iOS 9 was installed. At that point, the error message would appear on the screen and the phone would be bricked. Photos, data and other content were lost forever. Some believe that this is taking place when iOS 9 starts looking for original components that are no longer on the phone. When those parts can't be found, the user is locked out and the only remedy is to purchase another iPhone.<br />
<br />
Those left with a bricked iPhone are blaming Apple for not passing along details of this issue in advance to consumers and repair shops. Many believe that the error 53 issue was created to force iPhone users to have their handset repaired by Apple.<br />
<br />
Whatever the reason, let this be a warning to you. If your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus is damaged, you might want to consider allowing Apple to handle the repairs. Otherwise, "error 53" could leave you with an expensive paperweight.<br />

Sometimes when an iPhone feels like it's a step slow, a poor network connection is usually to blame. And in instances where a weak signal isn't the culprit, you may chose to power down your iPhone, give it a minute to catch its breath, and then power it back on. That maneuver usually does the tRick, but there's a quicker way to get your iPhone back on track.<br />

When your Wi-Fi is rock-solid or your cellular connection is strong and your iPhone is still slow to respond, there is a quick procedure you can perform that flushes your iPhone's memory. I tried it on both my iPhone and iPadand found that while it doesn't completely or even dramatically free up memory resources, it did reduce each device's memory usage somewhat.<br />
<br />
To free up some memory, unlock your phone and then hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" screen appears. Next, instead of sliding to power off or tapping the cancel button, press and hold the Home button for a few seconds until you are returned to the home screen. That's it, memory flushed.<br />
